Reporting directly to the Chief Technologist of the Laboratory, the Laboratory Assistant is responsible for a range of tasks to support Medical Technologists in the efficient functioning of the Laboratory.


Compensation :
The current wage is: $28.17/hour

About the Facility :
The organization operates a 19-bed acute care hospital that seamlessly integrates home and community care. Services encompass emergency and outpatient care, medical and surgical services, maternity, palliative care, laboratory services, radiology, pediatrics, home and community care, and a community cancer clinic. The medical team comprises family physicians, anesthetists, a pediatrician, visiting surgeons, and various specialists.

Qualifications :
  • Completion of Grade 12, successful completion of a recognized Laboratory Assistant training program, and one (1) year of recent, relevant experience, or an equivalent combination of education, training, and experience.
Skills and Competencies:
  • Effective verbal and written communication skills.
  • Ability to interact positively with others.
  • Physical capability to perform the duties of the position.
  • Strong organizational skills.
  • Proficiency in operating relevant equipment.
  • Typing speed of at least 25 words per minute.
