Your Role
We are seeking an Assistant Project Manager to join our British Columbia Team in our Vancouver office. As an Assistant Project Manager, you will have the opportunity to work with experienced project managers to learn the keys to client satisfaction and successful project delivery.
Responsibilities
- Provide project support to the Project Manager(s) including schedule updates, progress reports, and preparation of tender and contract documents.
- Engage in on-site organization of contractors and consultants.
- Attend project and site meetings to capture action items.
- Provide a communication path between the Project Manager(s) and contractors, consultants, and suppliers.
- Provide relief support on other projects when available.
- Ensure that project activities are conducted in accordance with Colliers Project Leaders' Quality Management System.
Qualifications
- A university degree or diploma in engineering, architecture, or quantity surveying (or an equivalent combination of academic and practical experience).
- A minimum of 2-3 years of experience representing owners to multiple stakeholders to deliver projects of varying size and scope in a range of sectors, including healthcare, education, and municipal/provincial.
- Actively working towards obtaining the Project Management Professional Designation (PMP) through the Project Management Institute.
- Previous exposure to consultant and design management, construction contract administration, and project financial management is an asset.
- An understanding of project delivery models, including design-build, construction management, and design-bid-build.
- Excellent written and verbal communication and presentation skills.
- A results-oriented approach with the ability to take responsibility.
- Exceptional organizational skills and the ability to prioritize competing tasks to meet tight deadlines.
- Strong computer skills, including a working knowledge of scheduling (MS Project), word processing (Word), and spreadsheet (Excel) software applications.
