Job Title: Registered Pharmacy Technician

We are seeking a highly skilled and detail-oriented Registered Pharmacy Technician to join our team at Lawtons. As a key member of our pharmacy team, you will play a vital role in providing exceptional patient care and ensuring the accuracy of medication dispensing.

Job Summary:

The Registered Pharmacy Technician will be responsible for preparing, processing, and compounding prescriptions, as well as performing medication reconciliation for new admissions and readmissions to Long Term Care. You will work closely with our pharmacy team, including pharmacists, nurses, and other healthcare professionals, to ensure timely access to prescriptions for our nursing home residents.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Prepare, process, and compound prescriptions, including medication reconciliation and checking weekly cycle fills
  • Work with various electronic medication administration platforms, including Catalyst and Point Click Care
  • Support and manage daily workflow in the dispensary, including receiving and transcribing verbal prescriptions
  • Ensure the accuracy of prepared prescriptions and perform final checks
  • Transfer prescriptions to and receive prescriptions from other pharmacies
  • Work with pharmacy automation, including VBMs and ScriptPros
  • Collaborate with the pharmacy team to ensure accurate patient care and medication management
Requirements:
  • Completion of Pharmacy Technician Certificate
  • Licensed in NS
  • Strong communication skills and ability to work independently in a fast-paced team environment
  • Exceptional time management and organizational skills, with ability to multi-task and problem solve
  • Reliable transportation
