Job Title: Pharmacy Technician

Join our team at Lawtons as a Pharmacy Technician and play a vital role in providing patient care and timely access to prescriptions for our nursing home residents.

About the Role:

We are seeking a highly skilled and licensed Pharmacy Technician to work in our Long Term Care pharmacy. As a Pharmacy Technician, you will work with a team of professionals, including physicians, nurses, pharmacists, and pharmacy assistants, to provide patient care and prepare, process, and compound prescriptions.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Medication reconciliation for all new admissions and readmissions to Long Term Care
  • Checking weekly cycle fills (ensuring technical accuracy for regular maintenance medications packed through automation)
  • Working with various electronic medication administration platforms, including Catalyst and Point Click Care
  • Working with pharmacy automation, including PacMed, PacVision, and PacRoll software
  • Supporting and managing daily workflow in the dispensary
  • Supporting off-site vaccination clinics and performing immunizations for LTC residents
  • Transferring prescriptions to and receiving prescriptions from other pharmacies
  • Ensuring the accuracy of drug and personal health information in patient records
Requirements:
  • Completion of Pharmacy Technician Certificate
  • Licensed in NS
  • Speaking with other healthcare professionals, including pharmacists, nurses, physicians, and nurse practitioners
