Job Summary

Hamilton Health Sciences is seeking a skilled and compassionate Healthcare Support Specialist to join our team. As a key member of our healthcare team, you will provide clinical support in patient care areas, working closely with our multidisciplinary team to deliver exceptional patient care.

Key Responsibilities
  • Provide clinical support in patient care areas, including assisting with patient care tasks and maintaining a safe and clean environment.
  • Work collaboratively with our healthcare team to deliver patient-centered care, prioritizing the needs of our patients and their families.
  • Assist with administrative tasks, such as maintaining accurate records and communicating with healthcare team members.
  • Participate in ongoing education and training to enhance your skills and knowledge, staying up-to-date on the latest best practices in patient care.
Requirements
  • Personal Support Worker or Healthcare Aide Certificate, or nursing student with successful completion of all level 2 courses at McMaster University or nursing student with successful completion of all level 2 courses in McMaster University and Mohawk College collaborative program or nursing student with successful completion of all level 1 courses in the Mohawk College Diploma program.
  • Computer familiarity or willingness to learn computer skills as required.
  • Demonstrated effective communication (verbal and written), interpersonal, teamwork skills.
  • Demonstrated initiative and judgement appropriate for the position.
  • Ability to accept assigned or delegated functions.
  • Ability to set priorities and organize work accordingly.
  • Ability to deal with various hospital departments effectively and collaboratively.
  • Ability to lift using appropriate lifting techniques and bend, push and pull using good body mechanics.
