The Marine Logistics Specialist is accountable for the management and modification of orders at Seaspan Marine. This position requires daily communication with clients, terminals, and various stakeholders.

Key Responsibilities

Manages and updates orders from both internal and external clients. Aids in optimizing schedules by coordinating with marine crews, engineering teams, maintenance, port captains, and external partners such as customers and vendors. Engages with clients to provide updates on arrival and departure schedules, ensuring minimal disruptions. Monitors tidal conditions and equipment readiness to guarantee timely scheduling with loading and unloading terminals. May require after-hours on-call duties. Undertakes additional responsibilities as needed. Prepares accurate invoices for services rendered by Seaspan, ensuring correct billing information and compliance with customer agreements.

Qualifications

Degree in a relevant field (Logistics or Business preferred). Nautical or Engineering Certificate of Competency is advantageous. At least 5 years of experience in logistics (preferably in tug and barge operations), or a suitable combination of education and experience. Proven ability to manage multiple tasks in a fast-paced environment. Familiarity with Canadian and International marine regulations. Understanding of Occupational Health and Safety regulations. Strong interpersonal and problem-solving skills. Excellent customer service abilities. Proficient communication skills at all levels, both verbal and written. Competent in MS Office applications (Word, Excel, Project, and Visio). Strong organizational and time management capabilities.
