We are seeking a skilled Welding Specialist to join our team at Avantis Marine North America Inc. as a Marine Fabrication Technician. The ideal candidate will have experience operating manual or semi-automatic, fully automated welding equipment and be proficient in various welding techniques, including shielded metal arc welding (SMAW), gas tungsten arc welding (GTAW), and gas metal arc welding (GMAW).



Key Responsibilities

  • Operate manual or semi-automatic welding equipment to fabricate or repair metal parts and products.
  • Examine welds and ensure that they meet standards and/or specifications.
  • Read and interpret welding blueprints, drawings specifications, manuals, and processes.
  • Interpret welding process specifications and operate previously set-up welding machines.
  • Operate manual or semi-automatic flame-cutting equipment.


Requirements

  • 1 year to less than 2 years of experience in metal fabrication and welding.
  • Basic security clearance.
  • Ability to work in confined spaces, handle heavy loads, and work in a physically demanding environment.
  • Basic knowledge of health and safety protocols.
  • On-the-road job with variable locations.
  • Ability to work overtime required.
