About the Role

We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Application Consultant to join our Enterprise Technology team at the Canadian Imperial Bank of Commerce. As an Application Consultant, you will play a key role in delivering complex, enterprise-scale mobile projects involving multiple back-end systems.

Key Responsibilities
  • Design and Development: Perform and coordinate complicated application programming activities, design the application's technical infrastructure using specific databases, programming languages, utilities, and testing approaches, and lead the design and development of cost-effective and innovative solutions.
  • Strategic Planning: Develop multi-year technology roadmaps that align with the bank's vision, strategy, and business goals, lead multiple complicated projects involving backend systems, new technology, and the enhancement of existing applications.
  • Leadership Skills: Act as the mobile development team lead, run code-review sessions with the wider team to ensure the project is on track to meet goals, support and mentor intermediate and senior developers by sharing knowledge, collaborating, and problem-solving.
  • Technical Expertise: Demonstrate experience in Unix, Java, JBoss (or other JEE application servers), Oracle, MQ, MS SQL, IIS, Azure/.NET, software delivery methodologies, and working with vendors. Experience supporting brokerage business and working with Broadridge is preferred.
Requirements
  • Technical Skills: Application development in Java, applications support, Unix/Linux, Java Enterprise Edition, JBoss Application Server, Linux, Microsoft.NET Platform, Microsoft Azure, Oracle, software delivery, software development, and structured query language (SQL).
