About the Role

The Ministry of Natural Resources and Forestry is seeking a dedicated professional to contribute to our mission of ecological sustainability. As a Management Forester, you will play a vital role in developing and implementing Forest Management Plans within our district.

Your Responsibilities:

  • Collaborate on the development of comprehensive Forest Management Plans that prioritize the long-term health and sustainability of forest ecosystems.
  • Monitor and ensure compliance with established forest management practices for both Crown and private land resource management programs.
  • Provide expert guidance and advice on forestry matters to a diverse range of stakeholders, including local communities, Indigenous groups, the forest industry, and external agencies.

Your Qualifications:

To excel in this role, you will possess:

  • A deep understanding of forest management planning principles and practices, including legal obligations and regulatory frameworks.
  • Expertise in forest ecosystem management principles and a commitment to sustainable forestry practices.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills to effectively review information, identify trends, and develop solutions for complex resource management challenges.

Essential Skills:

  • Proven communication and interpersonal skills to facilitate discussions, build consensus, and foster collaborative relationships with diverse stakeholders.
  • Demonstrated leadership abilities to guide planning teams and effectively manage projects.
  • Proficiency in using computer software applications, including GIS, GPS, and other relevant technologies for data analysis and reporting.
