Key Responsibilities:

  • Deliver patient trays to units in a timely and efficient manner
  • Nourish patients in their rooms, providing exceptional customer service
  • Transport patient food carts to and from patient care units
  • Prepare and assemble meal trays, ensuring accuracy and attention to detail
  • Portion hot beverages and perform other related duties as required
  • Clean and sanitize equipment, utensils, and work areas
  • Collaborate with the team to maintain a clean and safe environment

Requirements:

  • Grade 12 education or equivalent
  • Knowledge of Food Safety (HACCP) an asset
  • Valid food handlers certificate
  • Previous hospital experience in Nutrition & Food Services an asset
  • Ability to work under minimal supervision and complete assigned tasks
  • Proven interpersonal, verbal, and written communication skills
  • Customer service skills essential
  • Basic math skills required
  • Ability to work as part of a team
  • A positive work and attendance record is essential

Working Conditions:

  • Must have the physical strength to meet the requirements of the job
  • Considerable walking, lifting, standing, and bending
  • Concentration with attention to detail, especially when working on the patient food service beltline
  • Standing for long periods of time in one spot
  • Working in both hot and cold temperature environments
