We are seeking a highly skilled Project Engineer to join our team at Aecon Concessions. As a key member of our engineering team, you will be responsible for delivering high-quality engineering designs and ensuring the successful execution of our projects.
Key Responsibilities- Develop and implement conceptual and detailed engineering designs for assigned projects, ensuring compliance with industry standards and good engineering practices.
- Provide guidance and feedback to junior engineers and designers to ensure accurate delivery of designs.
- Collaborate with project managers to ensure designs are completed on time and within budget.
- Promote and maintain a safety-first culture among employees, subcontractors, and consultants.
- Mentor and train junior engineers and designers to enhance their skills and knowledge.
- Develop and maintain good working relationships with internal groups, including other engineering disciplines, drafting, procurement, construction, and project management.
- Perform quality assurance and quality control of engineering design packages to ensure compliance with standards.
- Travel to project sites to liaise with customers, contractors, municipal authorities, and client representatives.
- Conduct specification compliance and constructability design reviews of engineering subcontractor's work.
- Bachelor's degree in Civil or Electrical Engineering from a recognized institution.
- Minimum 2 years of experience working on projects related to hydro or telecommunications infrastructure.
- Valid driver's license.
- Experience with Quick Pole, SPIDA Calc, or PLS CAD is considered an asset.
- Familiarity with hydro make-ready packages and conducting pole line analysis.
- Experience with AutoCAD and/or Bentley MicroStation is an asset.
- Familiarity with hydro one and Toronto hydro specifications and standards is an asset.
