Your Responsibilities

We are seeking a Cross-Platform Reporter with robust digital competencies who can adopt a multiplatform strategy for media coverage and production.

Reporting to the Chief Editor, Radio-Canada New-Brunswick, and collaborating with the assignment team, you will generate your own stories on a diverse array of subjects, producing news content tailored for all our platforms; writing, editing, and creating reports that align with corporate standards and policies.

Key Responsibilities Include:

Stay updated on current events by consulting various sources. Possess in-depth knowledge of current affairs in the Atlantic region. Establish and maintain relationships with various sources. Suggest and receive topics for news stories, reports, interviews, and projects. Research, gather, assess, and verify all components of the subject matter being covered. Plan documents or reports around the narrative to be conveyed and its format. Conduct interviews, evaluate their significance, and select relevant clips. Utilize all available digital tools to integrate elements (text, graphics, audio, video, images, and/or interactive material) to fulfill functionalities defined by project leaders. Create visual content (photos, illustrations, icons, etc.) suited to the interface (multiscreen), adhering to CBC/Radio-Canada branding guidelines. Process, manage, and digitize various file sources. Determine story angles. Script, edit, and narrate reports. Draft content specific to different platforms (TV, radio, web). Convey information through various formats (news copy, clips, features, reports, interviews, etc.). Deliver on-air reports. Inform newsroom management of any event that requires a news flash or special coverage. Ensure the availability of resources necessary for producing your reports. Operate a news vehicle as needed. Perform all other related tasks as required.

Candidate Profile:

Qualifications:

Bachelor's degree or equivalent Three (3) years of experience in journalism or equivalent

Skills:

Extensive general knowledge In-depth understanding of current events in Acadie Strong command of the primary work language: French Intermediate proficiency in English Proficient in communication techniques specific to the medium, as well as interview techniques Ability to deliver live content across various platforms Comprehensive knowledge of content management tools such as WordPress, Scoop (Radio-Canada's in-house tool), and iNews Familiarity with audio/video management systems like Avid NewsCutter, Dalet Plus, and Media Central Understanding of CBC/Radio-Canada Journalistic Standards and Practices Valid driver's license
