Position Summary:

CROWN Metal Packaging Canada LP, the Canadian branch of CROWN Cork & Seal USA, is in search of a PLANT PROCESS ENGINEER for its beverage can manufacturing facility. The role of the Plant Engineer is crucial in overseeing maintenance and repair operations across the plant, ensuring an effective and economical plant operation.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Develop, estimate, and execute projects aimed at enhancing safety, cost efficiency, and quality standards.
  • Manage and allocate the departmental budget in accordance with maintenance and repair guidelines.
  • Oversee capital expenditure management.
  • Implement and supervise maintenance programs.
  • Ensure plant and building maintenance is conducted to minimize downtime and comply with regulatory standards.
  • Plan and manage capital expenditure initiatives, including equipment procurement and construction projects.
  • Support and facilitate Environmental, Health, and Safety (EHS) programs.

Additional Duties:

Perform other job-related tasks as assigned.

Qualifications:

  • Strong focus on safety.
  • Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering or a related discipline, with 3-5 years of experience in a manufacturing setting.
  • Registered as a Professional Engineer with APEGA.
  • Six Sigma certification (Green, Black, or Master Black Belt) is advantageous.
  • Exceptional verbal and written communication skills.
  • Proficient in project management, time management, and leadership capabilities.
  • Experience in managing capital projects and collaborating with vendors and contractors.
  • Willingness to work various shifts, including nights and weekends, as necessary.
  • Familiarity with high-speed packaging machinery is a plus.
  • Demonstrated understanding of CCMS, work orders, and spare parts management.
  • Experience in process engineering is beneficial.

Working Environment:

The role is situated in a manufacturing environment characterized by variable temperatures, noise, moving machinery, and vehicular activity.

Travel Requirements:

Minimal travel expected (0 - 10%).
