About the Role:
CROWN Metal Packaging Canada LP is currently seeking a PLANT PROCESS ENGINEER for its beverage can manufacturing facility. The Plant Engineer will be responsible for overseeing maintenance and repair operations across the plant. This role is crucial in coordinating maintenance personnel to ensure efficient and cost-effective plant operations.
Key Responsibilities:
- Plan, design, estimate, and implement projects aimed at enhancing safety, reducing costs, and improving quality.
- Prepare and manage the departmental budget in accordance with maintenance and repair guidelines.
- Oversee capital expenditure controls.
- Implement and manage comprehensive maintenance programs.
- Ensure plant and building maintenance is conducted to minimize downtime and comply with regulatory standards.
- Plan and supervise capital expenditure projects, including equipment acquisitions and construction initiatives.
- Support and facilitate Environmental, Health, and Safety (EHS) programs.
Qualifications:
- Strong focus on safety.
- Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering or a related discipline, with 3-5 years of experience in a manufacturing setting.
- Registered with APEGA as a Professional Engineer (P. ENG).
- Six Sigma certification (Green, Black, or Master Black Belt) is advantageous.
- Exceptional verbal and written communication skills.
- Proficient in project management, time management, and possess strong leadership capabilities.
- Experience in managing capital projects and collaborating with vendors and contractors.
- Willingness to work various shifts, including nights and weekends, as required.
- Familiarity with high-speed packaging machinery is a plus.
- Demonstrated understanding of CCMS, work orders, and spare parts management.
- Experience in process engineering is beneficial.
Working Environment:
The role is situated within a manufacturing environment characterized by fluctuating temperatures, noise, moving mechanical parts, and vehicular traffic.
Travel Requirements:
Minimal travel expected (0 - 10%).
