Position Overview

CIMCO is seeking a skilled Manufacturing Shop Supervisor to join our team at our production facility.

Key Responsibilities

  • Oversee a diverse team of over 30 skilled tradespeople, including welders, fitters, and electrical technicians within the manufacturing environment.
  • Track work progress and quality to ensure timely completion of projects that meet established specifications.
  • Establish and support production timelines for various phases of manufacturing and adjust schedules as necessary.
  • Ensure the shop adheres to its commitments and responsibilities to both internal and external stakeholders.
  • Collaborate with fitters and welders to resolve and troubleshoot welding challenges.
  • Provide training and guidance to staff on safety protocols and equipment usage.
  • Assist the business in evaluating quotations and bids for client projects.
  • Maintain accurate records of work completed, materials utilized, and any safety incidents or violations.
  • Facilitate the recruitment and training of new team members.

Required Qualifications and Skills

  • Experience with pipe and vessel fabrication is a significant advantage.
  • Familiarity with TSSA regulations is preferred.
  • Proven experience in a supervisory role, such as foreman or shop manager.
  • Strong ability to manage, coach, and mentor a team effectively.
  • Capability to provide hands-on training and coaching.
  • Strong problem-solving skills with the ability to make decisions and organize tasks efficiently.
  • Excellent interpersonal skills, including strong verbal and written communication.
  • Exceptional organizational skills with a keen attention to detail.
  • Proficient computer skills.
  • Understanding of working in a unionized setting.
