Job Overview

We are seeking a dedicated Welder to join our team at Fibrecast Inc. This position involves working in a dynamic environment where precision and attention to detail are paramount.

QualificationsEducation
  • Completion of a college, CEGEP, or other non-university certificate or diploma from a program lasting 1 to 2 years.
Work Environment
  • Exposure to dusty and noisy conditions.
Key Responsibilities
  • Interpret welding process specifications.
  • Operate manual or semi-automatic, fully automated welding equipment.
  • Read and interpret welding blueprints, drawings, specifications, manuals, and processes.
  • Examine welds to ensure compliance with standards and specifications.
  • Operate manual or semi-automatic flame-cutting equipment.
  • Utilize brakes, shears, and other metal shaping, straightening, and bending machines.
  • Assess the weldability of various materials.
  • Operate hoisting and lifting equipment.
  • Utilize previously set-up welding machines for fabricating or repairing metal parts and products.
  • Operate brazing or soldering machines to bond metals or fill holes, indentations, and seams.
  • Perform minor repairs and maintenance on welding, brazing, and soldering equipment.
Materials and Equipment
  • Experience with aluminum alloys, stainless steel, and heavy metals.
  • Familiarity with brazing machines, gas welding machines, soldering machines, and electrical wiring devices.
Specialization Areas
  • Custom fabrication.
  • Machinery or equipment repair.
  • Working with cast iron and other metals.
Safety and Physical Requirements
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced environment.
  • Capable of handling heavy loads, with physical demands requiring attention to detail and hand-eye coordination.
  • Must be able to stand for extended periods.
  • Weight handling capability of more than 45 kg (100 lbs).
