About the Role

The City of Kingston is seeking a highly skilled and compassionate Nurse Practitioner to join our team at Rideaucrest Home. As a key member of our interdisciplinary team, you will provide exceptional resident-centered care, developing and implementing comprehensive care plans that address the unique needs of our residents.

Key Responsibilities

  • Conduct thorough assessments, integrating resident perspectives, staff insights, and nursing theory to inform care decisions
  • Diagnose and manage acute and chronic health conditions, collaborating with physicians as needed
  • Lead the development of strategies for illness prevention, health promotion, and restorative care
  • Prescribe medications and therapeutic measures, performing additional controlled acts as outlined in the College of Nurses Standards
  • Participate in policy development and evaluation to improve resident care
  • Consult with and refer to other health professionals and community services as needed

Requirements

  • Bachelor of Nursing Science (BNSc); Master's degree preferred
  • Post-graduate Primary Health Care Nurse Practitioner Certificate
  • Registration with the College of Nurses of Ontario as a Registered Nurse in the Extended Class
  • Recent general nursing experience, with preference given to experience in long-term care
