Position Overview

As a key member of the Nutrition and Food Services team, the Nutrition and Food Services Supervisor plays a vital role in overseeing daily operations, ensuring quality meal service, and maintaining safety standards across assigned areas. This position involves direct supervision of staff, coordination of meal delivery, and acting as a liaison within the integrated Nutrition and Food Services model.


About the Role

The Supervisor is responsible for:

  • Leading and managing front-line staff to ensure efficient service delivery.
  • Implementing operational procedures in alignment with the strategic goals of Nutrition and Food Services.
  • Fostering a culture of safety and quality assurance, particularly in food safety practices.
  • Engaging in administrative tasks and supporting the management team in achieving departmental objectives.

Qualifications

The ideal candidate will possess:

  • A degree in Nutrition or a recognized qualification in Food and Nutrition Management.
  • Certification as a Journeyman Cook is advantageous.
  • Advanced Food Safety Certification and HACCP Training.
  • A minimum of two years of experience in food service management or clinical nutrition, preferably in a healthcare environment.
  • Strong leadership and staff management skills, particularly in a unionized setting.
  • Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal.
  • Proficiency in conflict resolution and a proactive approach to problem-solving.
  • A commitment to continuous improvement and the ability to work collaboratively with diverse teams.
  • Flexibility to work outside standard hours and travel as required.
  • Competency in additional languages, especially French, is a plus.

Work Schedule

  • Casual Relief / 3% FTE
  • Shiftwork / Call / Rotation as necessary

Compensation

The hourly wage for this position is $37.38, with an additional 11% in lieu of benefits and vacation.
