About the Opportunity

The Dietitian is responsible for providing competent, safe, and ethical professional practice to patients, families, and communities. This role advises on diet and food and nutrition across all health sectors, leading team efforts to support nutritional health and prevent malnutrition.

The Dietitian participates in the Dietetic Practicum and Internship program, preceptoring and mentoring Dietetic Students. They employ an evidence-informed approach to practice, collaborating with healthcare team providers to share nutrition expertise and ensure quality and continuity of care.

This position contributes to client care through collaboration, sharing nutrition expertise, and supporting a range of healthcare services within a holistic, client-centered framework.

About You

We seek a Dietitian with a Bachelor of Science in Human Nutrition from a recognized University, Dietetic Internship Program completion, and current registration with the Nova Scotia College of Dietitians and Nutritionists. A minimum of one year of working experience as a Dietitian is preferred, with inpatient clinical nutrition experience and competency in dysphagia management, enteral and parenteral nutrition being assets.

Competency in Microsoft Office computer applications and effective interpersonal and communication skills are essential. The ability to prioritize, problem solve, and work under pressure, as well as participate in continuing education and upgrading of skills, is also required.

Hours and Compensation

This is a Permanent, Full-Time position with 75 Hours Biweekly. The hourly rate is $32.95 - $43.43, with successful candidates eligible for our benefits package, including health, dental, travel, long-term disability, and life insurance coverage, as well as a defined benefit pension plan.
