About the Role

We are seeking a highly skilled and compassionate Family Medicine Specialist to join our team at South Sherbrook Health Centre and Pharmacy. As a key member of our healthcare team, you will be responsible for providing high-quality patient care and promoting health and wellness in our community.

Key Responsibilities
  • Collect and Analyze Medical Information

You will collect medical information from patients, family members, or other medical professionals to identify health issues and develop effective treatment plans.

Examine and Diagnose Patients

You will examine patients' health conditions to identify diseases and injuries, and order laboratory tests, X-rays, and other diagnostic procedures as needed.

Prescribe and Administer Medications

You will prescribe and administer medications and treatments to patients, and provide guidance on health care and wellness.

Consult with Other Medical Practitioners

You will consult with other medical practitioners to evaluate patients' physical and mental health, and develop comprehensive treatment plans.

Supervise and Coordinate Patient Care

You will supervise staff and coordinate or manage primary patient care, including providing acute care management and counseling and support to patients and their families.

Requirements
  • Education and Certifications

You must have a degree in medicine, dentistry, veterinary medicine, or optometry, and be certified by the College of Family Physicians (CCFP) and licensed by provincial or territorial authorities.

Experience and Skills

You must have at least 2 years of experience in family medicine, and possess excellent communication and interpersonal skills, as well as the ability to work effectively in a team environment.

Language and Work Environment

You must be fluent in English and able to work in a fast-paced healthcare environment with a high level of accuracy and attention to detail.
