Key Responsibilities
  • Consultation and Diagnosis: Conduct thorough consultations with patients to evaluate their physical and mental health, and develop effective treatment plans.
  • Medication Management: Prescribe and administer medications and treatments as needed, taking into account patients' medical histories and current health status.
  • Patient Education: Provide patients with clear and concise information about their health, including advice on healthy lifestyle choices and disease prevention.
  • Co-ordination of Care: Work with other healthcare professionals to ensure seamless co-ordination of patient care, including referrals to specialists and other medical services.
  • Acute Care Management: Provide emergency care and treatment to patients with acute medical conditions, such as injuries or illnesses.
  • Counselling and Support: Offer emotional support and guidance to patients and their families, helping them to cope with a wide range of health and lifestyle issues.
Requirements
  • Education: A degree in medicine, dentistry, veterinary medicine, or optometry is required.
  • Experience: A minimum of 2 years of experience in family medicine or a related field is preferred.
  • Certifications: College of Family Physicians Certification (CCFP) and licensure by provincial or territorial authorities are required.
  • Language: Fluency in English is essential.
  • Work Environment: A permanent position with a 40-hour workweek is available.
