This position is pivotal in overseeing the execution of training initiatives and related activities within the community, as mandated by the Training and Inuit Success Department. Responsibilities encompass the coordination of the Work Ready Program (WRP) and Employment and Training Information Sessions (ETIS). Key tasks include managing local logistics, participant registration, ensuring effective event execution, documenting training sessions, and compiling regular reports.

*Ideal candidates should reside in Sanirajak, Nunavut*

Key Responsibilities

• Training Program Coordination:
Facilitate the organization of WRP training sessions, whether conducted in-person or online.
Assist in coordinating quarterly ETIS tours across the designated hiring locations.
Support training events by managing registrations, completing necessary documentation, capturing event photos, and more.
Collaborate with Baffinland Community Liaison Officers (BCLOs) to promote upcoming events, arrange logistics, and ensure adequate participant turnout.
Support new training initiatives funded by Baffinland for the Inuit community, including adult education and financial literacy programs.
Assist site-based employees or contractors with required training prior to their arrival, including onboarding modules.
Engage with educational institutions to stay informed about their training offerings.

• Logistics and Procurement Management:
Coordinate all logistical arrangements for training programs, including travel, venue selection, catering, and accommodation.
Work with the Training Program Coordinator and Communications Department to effectively promote events through various channels.

• Training Schedule Development:
Collaborate with the Training Program Coordinator to establish a comprehensive schedule for community-based training initiatives throughout the year, aligning with the Inuit Impact Benefits Agreement (IIBA) commitments.

• Data Documentation and Reporting:
Accurately capture and report on all training data related to Inuit Success programs.
Prepare monthly training reports that analyze past activities and outline future initiatives.
Enhance existing tracking systems and reporting formats as necessary.

• Financial Administration Support:
Assist in gathering quotes and invoices from vendors involved in training activities.

Qualifications
  • 2 to 3 years of relevant work experience
  • Proficient in MS Word, Excel, and Outlook
  • Strong communication skills with stakeholders, including community members and government agencies
  • Excellent interpersonal skills
  • Ability to meet deadlines and manage tasks efficiently
  • Knowledge of Inuit culture is an asset, especially for Nunavut Land Claims Beneficiaries
  • High school diploma required; vocational or college diploma preferred
  • Demonstrated ability to work independently and professionally
