About the Role

Hammeco Lawyers LLP is a leading law firm in British Columbia, recognized for its excellence in providing top-notch legal services to clients. We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Litigation Support Specialist to join our team.

Key Responsibilities
  • Provide administrative support to lawyers in various areas of litigation, including drafting correspondence and legal documents, preparing and serving List of Documents, and facilitating file transfers.
  • Prepare and edit legal documents, correspondence, and other materials from dictation, instructions, and precedents.
  • Manage calendars, schedules, appointments, and deadlines for lawyers, and maintain a bring forward or tracking system for limitation and follow-up dates.
  • Communicate with clients, courts, opposing counsel, adjusters, and other parties in a professional and courteous manner.
  • Schedule trials, trial management conferences, case plan conferences, examinations for discovery, registrar hearings, and mediations.
  • Perform other administrative tasks as assigned by lawyers, including opening, organizing, and maintaining files, records, and reports.
Requirements
  • 2-4 years of work experience as a Legal Assistant, primarily in litigation.
  • Solid understanding of legal procedures and documentation, and the ability to diarize dates independently.
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office, Microsoft Excel, Outlook, and other legal software applications as required.
  • Experience with Filevine is considered an asset.
  • Proven ability to thrive in a fast-paced environment and to meet weekly targets.
  • Excellent prioritization skills and ability to meet tight deadlines.
  • Exceptional attitude, flexible, positive, proactive, dependable, willing/able to learn new skills.
  • Enthusiastic and proactive participation in team and office activities to help maintain a cohesive team environment.
