Position Overview:
The Senior Financial Planning Analyst will lead a small team of analysts, providing critical support to business unit leaders and senior executives in both strategic and operational decision-making. This role encompasses responsibilities such as budgeting, forecasting, and financial reporting, alongside conducting in-depth financial analyses and developing robust financial models.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Oversee the annual five-year planning cycle and the monthly forecasting processes.
  • Develop and maintain comprehensive corporate and utility-level financial models.
  • Assess the implications of strategic initiatives, investments, and various financing options through detailed sensitivity analyses.
  • Monitor financial performance, analyze trends, and update models as necessary.
  • Ensure timely and precise delivery of financial insights to senior leadership for informed decision-making.

Budgeting and Planning:
Collaborate with various departments, including Treasury, Tax, and Accounting, to enhance the corporate and regulated utility financial models and decision-making tools. Responsibilities include:
  • Preparing presentations for senior management and the Board of Directors.
  • Creating insightful financial analyses to support strategic decisions.
  • Documenting processes thoroughly to ensure compliance and control.
  • Implementing financial systems and tools that improve the efficiency and accuracy of financial planning.
  • Extracting relevant data from financial systems and developing reports and dashboards.

Team Leadership:
Manage, mentor, and develop a team of analysts, driving efficiencies through standardization and automation of reporting and analysis processes.

Qualifications:
  • Bachelor's degree in Finance, Business, Accounting, or a related field.
  • Approximately 5+ years of experience in a highly analytical role within a corporate finance environment.
  • Strong understanding of corporate finance and accounting principles.
  • Professional designations such as CPA, CFA, or MBA are advantageous.
  • Experience in roles such as FP&A, corporate development, or equity research.
  • Leadership experience with a proven ability to coach and develop junior team members.
  • Ability to manage multiple initiatives in a dynamic corporate setting.
  • Familiarity with financial systems such as SAP is preferred.
