The Analyst will assist senior team members with monthly reporting, forecasting, budgeting, and strategic planning. This role entails performing financial analysis, developing financial models, and creating presentations along with scenario evaluations. This prominent position offers a unique opportunity to engage in enterprise-wide information dissemination and contribute to key corporate finance decisions.

Key Responsibilities

Monthly & Quarterly Reporting and Forecasting:


• Conduct analysis of monthly and quarterly financial outcomes, emphasizing variance analysis, key drivers, and reporting on significant financial metrics to senior management and the Board of Directors.

• Execute advanced financial modeling in Excel, including pro forma analysis, valuation, EPS impacts, credit metrics, and comparisons to previous versions.

• Establish, implement, and enhance processes and best practices to automate financial reporting and analysis, utilizing tools such as Power BI, Excel, and SAC.

• Assist with various financial projects and initiatives as needed.

Budgeting and Strategic Planning:


• Lead Liberty's integrated forecasting, budgeting, and strategic planning processes. Responsibilities include coordination, financial modeling, variance analysis, and preparation of presentation materials for senior management and the Board of Directors.

• Become proficient in Algonquin's suite of corporate and regulated utility models and decision-making tools.

• Collaborate with Treasury, Tax, Accounting, and business unit FP&A to align planning assumptions with key stakeholders.

Additional Responsibilities:


• Extract and upload relevant data to and from the planning system (SAP Analytical Cloud) and assist in developing SAC reports and dashboards over time.

• Create clear schedules, tables, and bridges to present data in a coherent manner.

Qualifications


• Bachelor's degree in Finance, Accounting, or a related field.

• Minimum of 3 years of experience in financial planning and analysis, corporate finance, accounting, or a related area.

• Advanced Excel-based financial modeling skills.

• Strong understanding of corporate finance and accounting principles.

• Excellent analytical and problem-solving abilities with a keen attention to detail.

• Strong verbal, written, and interpersonal communication skills.

Preferred Qualifications


• CPA, CFA, MBA, or other relevant financial certifications.

• Previous experience in analytical roles such as corporate development, equity research, corporate finance, or transaction services.

• Experience managing multiple projects in a dynamic corporate environment.

• Familiarity with financial analysis techniques and tools to interpret and draw conclusions from business data.

• Enthusiasm for analytics and leveraging information systems to simplify complexity into actionable insights. Willingness to learn financial systems (SAP, HFM, SAC).

• Experience in the utilities sector.
