Position Overview:

The Head of Architectural Strategy will lead and manage the architectural framework for Global Compliance and Anti Money Laundering (AML) technology. This role is pivotal in ensuring that strategies, plans, and initiatives align with the business objectives of the team while adhering to governing regulations and internal policies.

Key Responsibilities:

In this role, you will:

  1. Collaborate closely with delivery and engineering teams, product owners, and technical platform teams to design and develop AML platforms, facilitating the incremental rollout of new features.
  2. Serve as a strategic advisor to senior leaders across Global Compliance and AML, particularly in the context of significant technology projects.
  3. Take ownership of the long-term technology vision and innovations to optimize investment value across various applications and services.
  4. Lead the AML Architecture Review Board, ensuring that business initiatives are supported by comprehensive solution designs that meet the organization's technology standards.
  5. Drive a variety of technology strategy initiatives, including application rationalization, cloud migration, and legacy modernization.
  6. Streamline the technology application landscape to achieve efficiency gains in cost, revenue, and resources while delivering business value to clients.
  7. Conduct research and development to assess emerging technologies and their potential to transform Global Compliance and AML platforms.
  8. Integrate the Bank's risk appetite and culture into daily activities and decision-making processes.
  9. Foster a high-performance environment and contribute to an inclusive workplace culture.
Qualifications:

We are looking for candidates who possess:

  1. Extensive experience and deep knowledge in the technology sector (e.g., software engineering, IT & Digital strategy, enterprise architecture, complex technology delivery, IT innovation).
  2. A minimum of 7 years in Software Engineering Leadership, Software Architecture, or Data Architecture.
  3. At least 3 years of experience in Financial Crime and/or Anti Money Laundering.
  4. Familiarity with modern technologies such as cloud platforms, microservices, mobile and web architectures, DevSecOps, and contemporary data platforms.
  5. The ability to deliver results in a fast-paced and dynamic business environment.
  6. Strong interpersonal skills, leadership qualities, and the ability to influence others.
  7. Self-motivation with the capability to work independently and collaboratively within multi-functional teams.
  8. A solid understanding of the specific technology challenges relevant to Global Compliance and AML, along with awareness of current trends and their implications.
  9. Exceptional planning and analytical skills, with the ability to focus on critical business issues.
  10. Highly developed relationship management skills to effectively engage with stakeholders across the Bank, partners, and external vendors.
  11. Outstanding presentation and written communication skills.
