About the Role

Thales Canada is seeking a highly skilled Senior Systems Engineer to join our team in Ottawa, Ontario. As a key member of our Systems Engineering team, you will play a critical role in the design, integration, and testing of complex systems for the Canadian Army's Land Command, Control, Communications & Computers (C4) Intelligence, Surveillance and Reconnaissance (LC4ISR) systems.

Key Responsibilities
  • Lead the system engineering process, including tailoring the process to meet project requirements, estimating and decomposing work, and providing timely and accurate status updates.
  • Develop preliminary and detailed designs for system and subsystem elements, review and validate internal and subcontractor designs, plans, and schedules, and identify and characterize issues in the system or its design.
  • Author technical documentation to capture system and subsystem designs, including architecture, interfaces, and installation elements, and support the development of verification and validation artifacts.
  • Collaborate with other functions during the implementation and integration of system and subsystem designs, and collaborate with stakeholders to ensure designs are consistent with end-user needs, desires, and concerns.
  • Resolve technical issues arising during implementation, integration, and testing of system and subsystem elements, and support the installation and/or integration testing of systems remotely or on customer site.
Requirements
  • Minimum 7 years of professional experience in the design and integration of complex systems in the commercial and/or military domains.
  • Bachelor's degree in engineering discipline or equivalent education with relevant experience.
  • Experience in sensors, networking, communications, and cloud and virtualization technologies is an asset.
