Job Title: Senior Systems Software Developer, Kernel

BlackBerry QNX is a trusted supplier of safe and secure operating systems, hypervisors, frameworks, and development tools. We are seeking a talented Senior Systems Software Developer to join our Kernel development team.

The ideal candidate will have a strong understanding of operating system concepts, including process and thread life cycles, memory management, system calls, and inter-process communication. Experience with POSIX based operating system architectures and multi-cpu, multithreaded architectures is highly desirable.

Responsibilities include:

  • Designing and implementing kernel features and hypervisor features
  • Developing and maintaining high-quality software specifications and designs
  • Providing technical leadership for QNX kernel and core OS research and development
  • Collaborating with cross-functional teams to ensure successful project delivery

Requirements:

  • Strong C programming skills, especially on resource-constrained devices and platforms
  • Bachelor's degree in Computer Science/Computer Engineering/Electrical Engineering or equivalent
  • Knowledge of operating system concepts, including scheduling, concurrency, and resource management
  • Excellent communication and problem-solving skills
