Job Title: Senior Systems Engineer

Thales is seeking a highly skilled Senior Systems Engineer to join our Defence and Security team in Ottawa, Canada. As a key member of our team, you will be responsible for designing and integrating complex systems in the commercial and military domains.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Develop and tailor the system engineering process, practices, and tools to meet project requirements.
  • Estimate and decompose work in an agile lifecycle process, providing timely and accurate status updates.
  • Design and develop preliminary and detailed designs for system and subsystem elements, reviewing and validating internal and subcontractor designs, plans, and schedules.
  • Author technical documentation to capture system and subsystem designs, including architecture, interfaces, and installation elements.
  • Support the development of verification and validation artifacts, including plans and procedures.
  • Collaborate with stakeholders to ensure designs are consistent with end-user needs, desires, and concerns.
  • Resolve technical issues arising during implementation, integration, and testing of system and subsystem elements.
  • Support installation and/or integration testing of systems remotely or on customer site, and manage technical subcontractors.
Requirements:
  • Minimum 7 years of professional experience in designing and integrating complex systems in commercial and/or military domains.
  • Bachelor's degree in engineering discipline or equivalent education with relevant experience.
  • Experience in sensors, networking, communications, NATO/MIL standards, and cloud/virtualization is an asset.
