About the Role

We are seeking a highly skilled Senior Risk Consultant to join our team at the Canadian Imperial Bank of Commerce. As a key member of our Risk Management group, you will play a critical role in monitoring and measuring performance against our Risk Appetite Statements (RASs) and associated processes.

Key Responsibilities
  • Collaborate with Risk Groups and Stakeholders: Engage with other Risk groups and stakeholders across the bank to manage the RAS reporting processes to senior management and board-level committees.
  • Foster Strong Relationships: Build strong collaboration in partnership across Risk Management, SBUs, and other functional groups to support our capability to effectively review and challenge proposals during the annual refresh of CIBC's and its SBU/functions group RASs.
  • Attention to Detail: Manage the monitoring of monthly and quarterly reporting of performance against risk appetite metrics and ensure proper controls and governance around the reporting process.
  • Strong Communication: Effectively communicate technical, analytical, conceptual, and strategic information and ideas to stakeholders, both verbally and in writing.
Requirements
  • Experience: At least 5 years of experience in financial services, preferably in Risk Management, with a university degree in a related field.
  • Technical Skills: High proficiency in Excel, Word, and PowerPoint, with strong writing and verbal communication skills.
  • Knowledge: Familiarity with internal systems and Bloomberg is an asset.
  • Education: A master's degree in a related field, with experience in working with macroeconomic data and reading bank financials, is considered an asset.
  • Personal Qualities: Driven by collective success, with a strong attention to detail, ability to give meaning to data, and act like an owner.
