We are seeking an experienced Strategic Human Resources Business Partner to join our Calgary-based HR team at The Institute for Performance and Learning. Key Responsibilities- Strategic Partnership
- Partner with senior leadership to develop a deep understanding of key business priorities and continuously support leaders in achieving their business goals.
- Consult with senior leadership to influence and advise on barriers to success, driving proactive solutions that support building a high-performance environment.
- Talent Management
- Guide a team of people leaders on executing talent management practices, such as organizational design, performance management, change management, retention and engagement, and succession planning.
- Lead by example, supporting a positive work environment with strong values and a high-touch employee experience.
- Employee and Labour Relations
- Collaborate with peers and navigate complex employee relation matters promptly and sensitively, supporting people leaders and employees through resolution.
- Ensure compliance with all applicable Federal and Provincial Employment Standards and Human Rights legislation to maintain a fair and legally compliant work environment.
- Conduct thorough investigations into employee grievances or complaints, develop actionable recommendations, and follow through on decided actions to resolve issues effectively.
- Collaboration and Communication
- Partner with peers across the HR Business Partnership team to establish operating principles and best practices for a growing organization.
- Build and maintain positive relationships with union representatives, fostering open communication and collaboration to address employee concerns and promote a harmonious work environment.
- Bachelor's Degree in Human Resources Management or post-secondary education at college or university level, with a focus on Human Resources or Labour Relations and/or a combination of experience and education.
- 7 to 10 years of experience in the field of Human Resources, with a minimum of 5 years as an HR Business Partner/Advisor/Consultant with extensive expertise advising and supporting functional leaders and bridging people programs and business needs.
- Experience in Labour Relations and working in a multi-union environment is a compelling asset.
- Strong professional written, verbal, and presentation skills.
- Ability to navigate conflict, manage stressful situations, mediate, and facilitate discussions at the senior leadership level.
- Solid understanding of Employment and Human Rights legislation across Canadian jurisdictions, Human Resources policies and procedures, Compensation and Benefits.
- Ability to travel to various locations within Western Canada; MUST have a valid driver's license and a reliable vehicle.
