About the Role:

We are looking for a skilled and motivated Senior QA Engineer with a focus on Native Mobile Applications Testing to enhance our dynamic team. This position is integral to our commitment to delivering exceptional mobile applications through rigorous testing and quality assurance methodologies.

Your Responsibilities:

  • Conduct comprehensive end-to-end testing for Native mobile applications, including developing test plans, executing test cases, and managing defects.
  • Foster a customer-centric approach to strengthen client relationships and utilize broader organizational knowledge.
  • Evaluate User Acceptance Testing (UAT) projects to assess risks associated with code releases, considering potential impacts across multiple projects.
  • Create UAT test plans and documentation based on risk assessments to optimize testing efficiency while adhering to established policies and standards.
  • Collaborate with project teams throughout the software development lifecycle to ensure all business and technical requirements are met.
  • Enhance application and process knowledge within UAT and provide training to fellow analysts as necessary.
  • Maintain an up-to-date understanding of banking applications, UAT configurations, and code delivery processes to advise development teams on integration.
  • Execute automated test scripts, analyze logs, and validate results, with the ability to make minor adjustments to automated test cases.
  • Understand the implications of the Bank's risk appetite and culture in daily operations and decision-making.
  • Strive for operational efficiency in line with Scotiabank's values and ensure compliance with business controls.

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree in a technical discipline such as computer science or engineering.
  • Over 7 years of relevant experience, ideally within a banking context, with expertise in testing Native mobile applications (both Android and iOS).
  • Hands-on experience with digital trading platforms and a solid understanding of the order placement process.
  • Proficiency in Wealth Management, particularly in trading and portfolio management.
  • Experience with trading applications and trade settlement processes.
  • Strong grasp of mobile application testing methodologies, tools, and frameworks.
  • Experience with Xcode and Android Studio.
  • Hands-on experience with automation testing frameworks and tools.
  • Familiarity with accessibility testing using VoiceOver and TalkBack.
  • Solid understanding of the software development lifecycle (SDLC) and agile methodologies.
  • Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills.
  • Experience with JIRA, Confluence, and HPALM.
  • Strong communication skills to address project-related issues effectively.
