About the Role:

We are seeking a skilled Licensed Practical Nurse (LPN) to join our team at Lander Treatment Centre in Claresholm, Alberta. As an LPN in Addictions and Mental Health, you will play a vital role in providing high-quality patient care and supporting individuals struggling with addiction.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Provide direct nursing care to clients, including pre-admission treatment matching, admission assessments, care planning, and discharge planning.
  • Manage physical and mental health issues, medication management, and participate in team decision-making.
  • Work collaboratively with an interdisciplinary team, including RNs, Addiction Counsellors, Mental Health Therapists, and other healthcare professionals.
  • Develop and implement individualized care plans, ensuring patient-centered care and promoting recovery goals.
  • Participate in ongoing education and training to enhance skills and knowledge in addictions and mental health treatment.

Requirements:

  • Completion of an accredited practical nurse education program.
  • Active or eligible for registration and practice permit with the College of Licensed Practical Nurses of Alberta (CLPNA).
  • Current Basic Cardiac Life Support - Health Care Provider (BCLS-HCP) certification.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Experience in addictions and mental health treatment, particularly in an inpatient or residential setting.
  • Background in emergency or psychiatric nursing.
  • Experience with Nicotine Replacement Therapy, Opioid Agonist Therapy, or other evidence-based treatments.
