About the Role

We are seeking a skilled Automotive Refinishing Technician to join our team at Craftsman Collision in Kamloops, B.C. As a key member of our team, you will be responsible for preparing surfaces for painting, matching colors, and applying primers and coatings in accordance with OEM specifications.

Key Responsibilities
  • Surface Preparation: Prepare surfaces for painting by spot filling, sanding, and masking.
  • Color Matching: Match colors and mix paints to ensure a perfect finish.
  • Coating Application: Apply primers, primer surfaces, sealers, base coats, single-stage, and clear coats in accordance with manufacturers' OEM specifications.
  • Documentation: Document in-progress repairs, including photo documentation.
  • Quality Control: Inspect vehicles for flaws after baking and correct any issues.
  • Panel Inspection: Inspect repaired panels and bodywork to meet quality standards.
  • Surface Finishing: Clean and polish painted surfaces and imperfections to meet Craftsman standards.
  • Quality Handoff: Ensure quality control handoff to Autobody Technician is completed.
  • Material Tracking: Contribute to material usage tracking and consumption.
Requirements
  • Red Seal Certification: Red Seal certified or equivalent experience.
  • Passion for Vehicles: Passion for vehicles and a willingness to do light body work.
  • Strong Communication Skills: Strong verbal and listening skills.
  • Attention to Detail: Takes pride in one's work and work performance.
  • Continuous Learning: Strives to improve and maintain skills.
  • Positive Attitude: Has a positive, can-do attitude.

  • Driver's License: Must have a valid class 5 driver's license with a clean driver's abstract over the last 3 years.
