Counsellor/Educator - Behavioural Services

Job Summary:
We are seeking a skilled Counsellor/Educator to join our Behavioural Services team at Fraser Health. As a Counsellor/Educator, you will work with children and youth living with challenging behaviours and/or mental illness and developmental disability, providing counselling and non-aversive behavioural therapy.
Key Responsibilities:- Assess clients and determine referral needs
- Formulate and implement treatment plans
- Provide comprehensive case consultation and follow-up support
- Develop, coordinate and deliver in-services, presentations, workshops and training
- Manage a caseload of children and youth living with mental illness and/or challenging behaviours and developmental disability
- Design and implement non-aversive behavioural interventions
- Provide clinical expertise and practical strategies to MCFD staff, caregivers and families
- Provide individual and group comprehensive psychotherapy/counselling to clients
- Maintain client records and collect clinical and administrative data
- Perform other related duties as assigned
- Master's degree in an applicable social or health sciences program
- Two years recent, related counselling experience or an equivalent combination of education, training and experience
- Eligible for membership/registration with a relevant professional association
- Valid B.C. drivers' license and possession of a personal vehicle for business use
- Knowledge of the needs and experiences of children and youth living with developmental disability/mental illness/challenging behaviours
- Knowledge of the broad health system, community resources and volunteer agencies
- Demonstrated clinical skills in individual and group psychotherapeutic interventions
- Demonstrated ability to teach and provide consultation to clients and other health-care professionals
- Excellent data collection skills
- Effective presentation and public speaking skills
- Ability to communicate effectively both verbally and in writing
