Position Overview

We are seeking a dedicated Facility Maintenance Specialist to ensure the cleanliness and upkeep of our commercial spaces. This role is essential in maintaining a welcoming environment for both employees and visitors.

Qualifications
  • Education: Secondary (high) school graduation certificate
  • Experience: 1 to less than 7 months in a similar role
Work Environment
  • Commercial buildings
  • Shopping centers or malls
Key Responsibilities
  • Sweep, mop, scrub, and wax hallways, floors, and stairs to maintain cleanliness.
  • Utilize industrial vacuum cleaners to effectively remove dirt, debris, and refuse.
  • Regularly empty trash cans and other waste containers to ensure a tidy environment.
  • Wash windows, interior walls, and ceilings to enhance the appearance of the facility.
  • Conduct safety and security checks to uphold a safe working environment.
  • Water and tend to plants, lawns, and gardens as necessary.
  • Clean and disinfect bathrooms and fixtures to maintain hygiene standards.
  • Work independently with minimal supervision.
  • Clear snow and ice from walkways and parking areas during winter months.
Support InitiativesFor Newcomers and Refugees
  • Engage with newcomers and refugees who have been displaced by conflict or natural disasters.
  • Assist with foreign credential recognition to help integrate newcomers into the workforce.
  • Facilitate mentorship programs pairing newcomers with experienced staff.
For Indigenous Peoples
  • Provide cultural competency and awareness training to foster an inclusive workplace.
For Visible Minorities
  • Implement mentorship programs connecting visible minorities with seasoned employees.
  • Offer diversity and cross-cultural training to promote a welcoming environment.
