Job Summary

We are seeking a highly motivated and experienced Warehouse Lead to join our team at The Chefs' Warehouse. As a key member of our operations team, you will be responsible for leading and coaching our warehouse team members to ensure accurate and efficient receipt, storage, and shipment of products.

Key Responsibilities
  • Lead and motivate warehouse team members to achieve individual performance goals and objectives.
  • Proactively identify and remove obstacles for teams and individual team members.
  • Ensure consistent application of all policies, procedures, and guidelines.
  • Develop and train team members on policy and procedures, as well as equipment operation.
  • Identify and report safety hazards, and maintain the physical condition of the warehouse and its equipment.
  • Analyze operations and make recommendations to improve expense and cost control.
  • Support business change and development through process improvements.
  • Work with operations management team to lead initiatives to reduce damages and improve inventory accuracy.
  • Coach team members to accurately use voice and computer systems.
  • Safeguard warehouse operations and contents by establishing and monitoring security procedures and protocols.
Requirements
  • Experience positively engaging peers and teams while working through diverse and challenging opportunities.
  • Leadership, motivation, and managerial skills.
  • Knowledge of and demonstrated success in following standard operating procedures (SOPs) in a warehouse distribution setting.
  • Foodservice knowledge is a plus.
  • Knowledge of Quality Control systems.
  • Ability to drive a 5-ton truck.
  • Ability to understand data and results, and articulate them to team members.
  • Effective time management and adaptability to changing priorities.
  • Accurate with attention to detail.
  • Strong communication and organization skills, with a superior work ethic.
  • Judgment and decision-making ability.
  • Team player with excellent interpersonal communication, leadership, and customer service skills.
