Role Overview

Position: HR Coordinator

Summary of Responsibilities:

This role is situated in Truro, NS, reporting directly to the HR Manager. The HR Coordinator is tasked with fulfilling our staffing requirements for a temporary period. Key responsibilities include overseeing the recruitment and onboarding processes, identifying qualified candidates, and employing advanced interviewing methodologies.

Key Responsibilities

  • Collaborate with hiring managers and HR to assess staffing needs and develop a strategic approach.
  • Design and manage the recruitment process.
  • Identify and source qualified candidates through various channels, including job boards, databases, and networking.
  • Foster relationships with professional organizations, communities, and other relevant entities.
  • Present qualified candidates to hiring teams for consideration.
  • Assist hiring teams in conducting interviews using diverse techniques (e.g., structured and behavioral interviews).
  • Provide guidance to hiring managers to enhance their decision-making processes.
  • Generate reports on recruitment progress and relevant metrics.
  • Support the onboarding of new employees, including coordinating orientation activities.
  • Perform additional duties as required.

Required Skills and Qualifications

  • A degree or certification in Human Resources Management or Business Administration is preferred.
  • Demonstrated success in recruitment.
  • Practical experience throughout the recruitment lifecycle.
  • Previous experience in a manufacturing setting.
  • Exceptional adaptability to manage multiple priorities within a large organization.
  • High integrity, energy, and self-motivation.
  • Knowledge of relevant legislation and its applications.
  • Enthusiasm and the ability to excel in a fast-paced environment.
  • Capability to work independently as well as collaboratively within a team.
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills, with a keen attention to detail and organizational abilities.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office applications (Word, Excel, PowerPoint) and HRIS systems.
