Position Overview
The Research Officer will play a pivotal role in advancing Coady's extensive global and national project collaborations focused on knowledge generation and sharing. Reporting directly to the Project Manager of the ENGAGE initiative, this role is integral to a significant multi-year project aimed at empowering women leaders to foster gender equitable change within their communities through a citizen-led, asset-based methodology.
The Officer will collaborate closely with Coady program staff and partner organizations to enhance community engagement, facilitate participatory research, and drive leadership initiatives for systemic transformation. This position requires a commitment to innovative practices and a passion for fostering community-led solutions.
Key Responsibilities
- Assess and implement innovative strategies for stakeholder engagement, community-led research, and leadership development while staying informed about emerging theories and methodologies.
- Assist project managers and teaching staff in enhancing the capabilities of ENGAGE partners and stakeholders through effective design and execution of engagement and research activities.
- Coordinate the design and implementation of action research and learning innovations within the ENGAGE project.
- Collaborate with project and research teams to facilitate research processes both domestically and internationally.
- Organize and lead collaborative learning environments to promote knowledge generation and dissemination, including conducting literature reviews and preparing comprehensive reports.
- Support various knowledge mobilization activities related to the Coady project's objectives, including the creation of academic papers, toolkits, and other knowledge products.
- Represent Coady at relevant events and meetings as needed.
- Engage actively in team meetings and contribute to the development of organizational practices and policies.
- Perform additional tasks as required, aligned with personal interests and organizational needs.
Qualifications
- Master's degree in a relevant social sciences field such as international development, political science, or adult education.
- A minimum of 3 years of experience in research coordination, community-engaged research, or workshop facilitation.
- Exceptional organizational skills with a keen attention to detail and the ability to manage multiple tasks effectively.
- Strong interpersonal and communication skills, with the ability to work collaboratively within a diverse team.
- Proficiency in all MS Office applications (Word, Excel, Outlook, PowerPoint) is essential.
- Flexibility in work hours may be required during peak periods.
- Bilingualism and experience in developing regions will be considered advantageous.
