About the Role

We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Claims Analytics Director to join our team at Wawanesa Insurance. As a key member of our organization, you will be responsible for building and leading a team of Claims Advanced Analytics experts, collaborating with the Data & Analytics Office to evolve the data foundation for Claims, and conducting thorough statistical analysis of claims data.

Key Responsibilities
  • Exemplify our purpose and values by leading by example and fostering a culture of excellence, collaboration, and innovation.
  • Develop and maintain claims reports and dashboards to provide actionable insights to stakeholders.
  • Collaborate with Enterprise Actuarial Services teams and Claims departments to drive business outcomes and improve claims processes.
  • Stay informed on industry trends, regulatory changes, and company developments to ensure our analytics capabilities remain cutting-edge.
  • Lead a team of Claims Operational Insights specialists to deliver industry-best outcomes and drive business growth.
  • Develop and enhance productive business relationships with regional and executive stakeholders.
  • Perform other duties as assigned to support the success of our organization.
Requirements
  • 10+ years of experience in advanced analytics leadership roles with a claims focus.
  • ACAS designation recommended, and Fellow of the Casualty Actuarial Society is preferred.
  • Strong understanding of actuarial processes and reserving techniques.
  • Undergraduate university degree in Actuarial Science, Statistics, Mathematics, or related field.
  • Experience delivering insight and recommendations to stakeholders.
  • Strong relationship management skills.
  • Excellent communication style.
  • Strong leadership skills and experience.
  • A passion and drive to want to get things right for the customer.
  • Ability to make well-justified decisions in complex situations.
  • Ability to develop and implement comprehensive plans and solutions.
  • Strong business acumen with critical thinking and problem-solving skills.
  • CIP or equivalent Property and Casualty industry designation considered an asset.
  • Ability and willingness to travel.
