About the Role

We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Claims Analytics Director to join our team at Wawanesa. As a key member of our leadership team, you will be responsible for building and developing a team of Claims Advanced Analytics experts and establishing data as the basis for claims insights.

Key Responsibilities
  • Exemplify alignment with our purpose and values, and lead by example in promoting a culture of service, openness, fairness, collaboration, and community.
  • Develop and maintain claims reports and dashboards to monitor claims performance and reserve adequacy, and collaborate with the Data & Analytics Office to evolve the data foundation for Claims.
  • Conduct thorough statistical analysis of claims data to identify trends, anomalies, and opportunities for improvement, and serve as a liaison between Enterprise Actuarial Services teams and Claims departments.
  • Lead quantification of the impacts of regulatory reforms, changes in claims operations, and other relevant factors, and leverage data and metrics to support industry-best outcomes, superior customer service, and consistency in reserving practices and claims settlements.
  • Oversee and coach a team to ensure a respectful, challenging, and rewarding work environment, and develop and enhance productive business relationships by consulting with internal and external stakeholders.
Requirements
  • 10 years' property and casualty analytics experience, with three years in a leadership role, and a strong understanding of actuarial processes and reserving techniques.
  • ACAS designation recommended, and Fellow of the Casualty Actuarial Society is preferred, and an undergraduate university degree in Actuarial Science, Statistics, Mathematics, or other related field of study.
  • Experience of delivering insight and recommendations to a wide range of stakeholders, and strong relationship management skills, with the ability to manage key relationships and act independently.
  • Excellent communication style, with the ability to interact with Executives, Senior Management, and other key stakeholders, and strong leadership skills and experience to create a high-performing employee culture.
