Job Summary

We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced professional to join our team as a Director of Commercial Real Estate. As a key member of our Real Estate team, you will be responsible for business development and management of a portfolio of commercial real estate clients.

Key Responsibilities
  • Manage a portfolio of real estate clients, delivering on financing requests to assist with income producing real estate, predevelopment, land servicing and construction costs for low-rise and high-rise residential projects.
  • Oversee loan structuring and maintain responsibility for quality of credit underwriting.
  • Mentor and coach Associate Directors in deal structuring, negotiation skills, lending guidelines, policies and risk appetite, profitability requirements.
  • Proactively maintain the health and integrity of accounts from a portfolio quality management perspective.
  • Develop and maintain a strong external network in the real estate community, including lending syndicate partners, law firms, cost consultants, etc.
Requirements
  • Previous real estate lending experience.
  • Proven track record in sales and business development and exceptional client relationship management.
  • Superior negotiation skills supported by deep industry expertise.
  • Excellent credit structuring and underwriting skills, and strong background of project budget and financial statement analysis.
  • Strong computer skills (especially Microsoft Word and Excel).
  • Excellent written and verbal communications skills.
  • Ability to quickly develop a working knowledge of programs and systems employed by the Bank.
Preferred Qualifications
  • MBA, CFA or CPA.
  • Experience leading large, complex syndicated transactions.
