Our Opportunity

RBI is seeking a highly experienced Legal Director, Privacy & Data Protection to join our team in Toronto. As a key member of our Global Privacy Program, you will be responsible for leading RBI's privacy and data protection efforts in Canada and driving compliance with global data protection regulations.

Key Responsibilities
  • Lead the development and implementation of RBI's Global Privacy & Data Protection Program in Canada
  • Design and implement privacy processes, protocols, and controls to ensure compliance with global data protection regulations
  • Provide legal advice and support to business stakeholders on privacy and data protection matters
  • Oversee the legal and regulatory compliance for privacy, security, and data matters in Canada
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to ensure data protection is integrated into business operations
Requirements
  • Bachelor's degree or JD and a member in good standing with a provincial or territorial law society
  • 10-15 years of post-Bar admission experience, preferably in a combination of law firm and in-house experience
  • 5-10 years of relevant privacy, data protection, and compliance experience
  • Sophisticated knowledge of global data privacy laws, with a focus on data privacy laws in Canada, the Canadian provinces, the EU, and the US
