Job Summary

The User Support Technician will provide technical assistance to users experiencing difficulties with computer systems, software, and other technology-related issues. The successful candidate will have excellent problem-solving skills, be able to communicate effectively with users, and have a strong understanding of computer systems and software.

Key Responsibilities
  • Respond to user inquiries and provide technical support via phone, email, or in-person
  • Consult user guides, technical manuals, and other documents to research and implement solutions
  • Provide training and guidance to users on the use of computer systems and software
  • Collect and maintain a problems and solutions log for use by other technical support analysts
  • Participate in the redesign of applications and other software to improve user experience
  • Provide business systems, network, and Internet support to users
  • Set up equipment for employee use, ensuring proper installation of cables, operating systems, and software
Requirements
  • College, CEGEP, or other non-university certificate or diploma from a program of 1 year to 2 years
  • 1 year to less than 2 years of experience in a technical support role
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
  • Ability to work in a team environment
  • Strong problem-solving skills and attention to detail
Working Conditions

The User Support Technician will work in a fast-paced environment, providing technical support to users in a variety of settings. The successful candidate will be able to work independently and as part of a team, and will have excellent time management and organizational skills.

Language

The primary language of work is English.

Hours of Work

The User Support Technician will work 60 to 88 hours bi-weekly.
