Job SummaryThe User Support Technician will provide technical assistance to users experiencing difficulties with computer systems, software, and other technology-related issues. The successful candidate will have excellent problem-solving skills, be able to communicate effectively with users, and have a strong understanding of computer systems and software.
Key Responsibilities- Respond to user inquiries and provide technical support via phone, email, or in-person
- Consult user guides, technical manuals, and other documents to research and implement solutions
- Provide training and guidance to users on the use of computer systems and software
- Collect and maintain a problems and solutions log for use by other technical support analysts
- Participate in the redesign of applications and other software to improve user experience
- Provide business systems, network, and Internet support to users
- Set up equipment for employee use, ensuring proper installation of cables, operating systems, and software
- College, CEGEP, or other non-university certificate or diploma from a program of 1 year to 2 years
- 1 year to less than 2 years of experience in a technical support role
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
- Ability to work in a team environment
- Strong problem-solving skills and attention to detail
The User Support Technician will work in a fast-paced environment, providing technical support to users in a variety of settings. The successful candidate will be able to work independently and as part of a team, and will have excellent time management and organizational skills.
LanguageThe primary language of work is English.
Hours of WorkThe User Support Technician will work 60 to 88 hours bi-weekly.
