Position Overview

The role of a User Support Technician involves providing essential assistance to users encountering challenges with their computer systems. This position is crucial in ensuring smooth operations within the organization.

Employment Details

  • Education: Completion of a college, CEGEP, or equivalent non-university certificate or diploma program lasting 1 to 2 years
  • Experience: 7 months to less than 1 year in a relevant field
Work Environment

This position is based in an office setting, providing a collaborative atmosphere for problem-solving and technical support.

Key Responsibilities
  • Facilitate access to computer networks for users.
  • Assist users facing difficulties with their computer systems.
  • Utilize user manuals, technical documentation, and other resources to identify and implement solutions.
  • Offer guidance and training to users based on their specific challenges.
  • Maintain a comprehensive log of issues and solutions for reference by other technical support personnel.
  • Engage in the redesign of applications and software to enhance user experience.
  • Deliver support for business systems, networks, and Internet services in response to user inquiries.
  • Set up equipment for user functionality, ensuring proper installation of cables, operating systems, and necessary software.
  • Conduct backup and recovery operations for web servers.
  • Provide exemplary customer service and manage incident reports effectively.
Supervisory Responsibilities

This role may involve overseeing 1 to 2 team members.

Technical Proficiencies
  • Proficient in networking software and security.
  • Knowledgeable in Internet technologies and server management.
  • Familiar with security software and various office applications.
  • Experienced in using HTML editing tools and MS Office Suite.
  • Proficient in MS Windows and SharePoint.
