Job Title: Director of Cardiac Imaging

We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Director of Cardiac Imaging to lead our team at the University of Ottawa Faculty of Medicine.

About the Role

The successful candidate will be responsible for overseeing the daily operations of our cardiac imaging department, ensuring the highest quality of care and research initiatives. This includes managing a multidisciplinary team of physicians, imaging scientists, nurses, and technologists.

The Director will be responsible for developing and implementing strategies to improve patient care and outcomes, as well as advancing research in the field of cardiac imaging.

Responsibilities
  • Lead a multidisciplinary team to ensure ongoing excellence and growth in cardiac imaging
  • Develop and implement strategies to improve patient care and outcomes
  • Advance research in the field of cardiac imaging
  • Manage daily operations of the cardiac imaging department
  • Collaborate with other departments to ensure seamless care and research initiatives
Qualifications

The ideal candidate must hold FRCPC certification in Cardiology (or equivalent), have Level 3 fellowship training in Nuclear Cardiology, be a member of, or be eligible to be a member of, the Canadian Medical Protective Association, and be eligible to practice medicine in Ontario.

Practice profile will be negotiated based on expected academic and clinical deliverables.

Candidates should have a significant academic profile, with a demonstrated track record of high-quality research. Ideally, the successful candidate will qualify for an academic appointment at the rank of Associate Professor or above.

The University of Ottawa and The Ottawa Hospital are bilingual institutions and therefore in the case of potentially successful candidates of equal ability, a bilingual (French/English) candidate would be preferred.
