Job Summary

We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Senior Finance Manager to join our team at Cumberland Education Trust. As a key member of our finance team, you will be responsible for developing and leading on financial management and reporting arrangements for our primary schools, while providing technical advice and expertise on central financial and system matters.

Key Responsibilities
  • Manage and coordinate budgeting and financial reporting for multiple schools, providing individual school-level and consolidated Trust-level reports.
  • Develop and implement financial management systems, controls, and processes to ensure high standards of financial operations.
  • Provide technical advice and guidance on financial matters to schools and central teams, ensuring compliance with financial regulations and policies.
  • Lead and manage a team of finance professionals, providing guidance, support, and development opportunities to ensure the success of the team.
  • Collaborate with senior leaders to develop and implement financial strategies that align with the Trust's overall vision and goals.
Requirements
  • Proven track record of managing finance operations to the highest standard, with a strong focus on continuous improvement.
  • Excellent leadership and communication skills, with the ability to engage with staff at all levels and build strong working relationships.
  • Strong IT skills and experience of managing and operating key financial systems.
  • Ability to manage time and work to tight deadlines, delegating as appropriate and guiding and influencing the work of others.
  • Qualified accountant with strong financial and technical accounting knowledge gained in a multi-complex organisation.
