The Culinary Specialist plays a vital role in ensuring the delivery of high-quality meals within our retirement community. This position requires a passion for cooking and a commitment to dietary needs.

Qualifications
  • Education: Secondary (high) school graduation certificate
  • Experience: Previous experience in a culinary setting is an asset
Key Responsibilities
  • Prepare and cook a variety of meals and individual dishes tailored to residents' preferences.
  • Accommodate dietary restrictions by preparing meals for individuals with food allergies or intolerances.
  • Collaborate with dietitians or chefs to create special meal plans for residents.
  • Conduct inspections of kitchens and food service areas to ensure compliance with health standards.
  • Train kitchen staff in food preparation, cooking techniques, and safe food handling practices.
  • Manage inventory by ordering supplies and maintaining accurate records of food and equipment.
  • Ensure cleanliness and organization of kitchen and work areas.
Work Environment

This is a permanent position requiring approximately 40 hours of work per week. The primary language of communication in this role is English.
