Job Summary

We are seeking a highly skilled Coastal Engineer - Project Development to join our team at Baird & Associates. As a key member of our coastal engineering team, you will be responsible for designing and developing innovative coastal projects that meet the needs of our clients.

Key Responsibilities
  • Project Development: Lead the development of coastal projects from concept to completion, working closely with clients, engineers, and other stakeholders to ensure successful project delivery.
  • Design and Engineering: Apply advanced design engineering techniques and procedures to develop coastal projects that meet client needs and regulatory requirements.
  • Project Management: Assist in project management, including budgeting, scheduling, and quality control, to ensure projects are completed on time and within budget.
  • Client Interaction: Develop and maintain strong relationships with clients, understanding their needs and expectations, and providing exceptional customer service.
  • Team Collaboration: Work collaboratively with other engineers, technicians, and support staff to ensure successful project delivery.
Requirements
  • Education: Bachelor's degree in Civil, Ocean, or Coastal Engineering or a closely related field from an accredited university or college.
  • Experience: Minimum of 5 years of experience in coastal or marine engineering, with a strong background in project development and design.
  • Skills: Strong technical skills, including proficiency in design software and tools, and excellent communication and project management skills.
  • Certifications: Professional Engineering License or the ability to obtain within 6 months.
Preferred Qualifications
  • Working Knowledge: Familiarity with codes and standards related to coastal engineering.
  • Documentation Skills: Ability to clearly document the basis of design, including design codes and standards, data analysis, assumptions, calculations, and conclusions.
  • Construction Experience: Experience with construction related to waterfront and coastal projects.
