Job Summary

We are seeking a highly skilled Coastal Engineer to join our team at Baird & Associates. As a key member of our coastal engineering team, you will be responsible for leading the development of coastal projects from concept to completion.

Key Responsibilities
  • Project Development: Lead the planning, research, design, engineering, and preparation of plans and specifications for coastal projects.
  • Project Management: Assist in project management, including client interaction, project budget and schedule control, and coordination of quality control procedures.
  • Team Collaboration: Work closely with our team of engineers and technicians to ensure successful project delivery.
  • Client Communication: Communicate effectively with clients to understand their needs and deliver high-quality results.
  • Technical Expertise: Apply advanced design engineering techniques, procedures, and criteria to coastal projects.
Requirements
  • Education: B.S. in Civil, Ocean, or Coastal Engineering or a closely related engineering category from an accredited University or College (M.S. preferred).
  • Professional Credentials: Professional Engineering License or the ability to obtain within 6 months.
  • Experience: Minimum of 5 years of coastal or marine engineering experience, in a consulting or contractor role.
  • Skills: Demonstrated experience in project design or construction experience involving coastal and marine structures, ecosystem restoration, or navigation & dredging.
Preferred Qualifications
  • Working Knowledge: Working knowledge of codes and standards relative to coastal engineering.
  • Documentation: Ability to clearly document the basis of design, including the documentation of design codes and standards, data analysis, assumptions, calculations, and conclusions.
  • Construction Experience: Construction experience related to waterfront and coastal projects.
